Jiangxi architecture is renowned for its exterior looking, interior decoration, in relation to its surroundings under influence of Fengshui theories. The traditional houses still preserved nowadays in Jiangxi were mostly built in Ming and Qing dynasties; ancestral shrines, Confucian academies, memorial arches are the most important monuments.
